The THOMAS BETTS XC270 is a straight, non-insulated conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). It uses a squeeze clamp connection method to secure the conduit end, providing a reliable mechanical termination at enclosures, junction boxes, and panel knockouts. Constructed from die cast zinc, this connector is built for durability in standard non-hazardous electrical installations. Rated for 1/2 inch trade size FMC, it is a common staple in commercial and residential rough-in work performed by licensed electricians and electrical contractors.
This connector is suited for non-hazardous area applications where FMC terminates at electrical enclosures, motor junction boxes, or conduit bodies. The straight body profile makes it appropriate for direct entry installations where the conduit runs perpendicular to the box face. It is commonly installed during rough-in phases of commercial construction, industrial panel wiring, and residential service work wherever flexible metal conduit is the specified raceway type.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock fitting for use with 1/2 inch trade size flexible metal conduit (FMC) in non-hazardous area electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for FMC terminations. De-energize all circuits and verify the absence of voltage before opening any enclosure or panel. Insert the FMC end into the connector body and tighten the squeeze clamp to achieve secure mechanical retention. Do not use this connector with liquidtight flexible metal conduit (LFMC) or in locations classified as hazardous under NEC Article 500.
