The THOMAS BETTS XC220SC is a straight, set-screw conduit connector designed for use with flexible metal conduit (FMC). Constructed from die cast zinc, this non-insulated connector provides a secure mechanical termination at enclosure knockouts and junction boxes. The set-screw connection method allows for fast, tool-assisted tightening without requiring additional fittings or adapters. At a 3/8 inch trade size, it is suited for light-gauge FMC runs in standard residential and commercial wiring applications. Electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of branch-circuit and general wiring systems in non-hazardous locations.
This connector is intended for non-hazardous area installations where FMC must terminate at a panel, enclosure, or junction box. The straight-body design accommodates direct entry into standard knockout openings. It is commonly used in residential wiring, light commercial construction, and mechanical room installations where flexible conduit connects to fixed equipment or electrical enclosures. The 3/8 inch trade size is one of the most common sizes used with FMC in low-voltage and branch-circuit wiring runs.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use connector for 3/8 inch trade size flexible metal conduit (FMC) terminations in non-hazardous locations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC guidelines for FMC terminations. Power must be shut off at the panel before connecting or disconnecting any conduit fittings at an energized enclosure. A flathead or hex screwdriver is used to tighten the set screw against the FMC after insertion. Do not overtighten the set screw, as this may deform the conduit and compromise the connection.
