The THOMAS BETTS TY23M is a standard-duty nylon cable tie designed for bundling and organizing wire harnesses, conduit runs, and cable assemblies in electrical, HVAC, and mechanical installations. At 3.62 inches in length with an 18 lb tensile strength, this tie handles light to medium bundling tasks reliably. The natural nylon construction is flame-retardant and rated for continuous service from -40 degrees F to 185 degrees F, making it suitable for both indoor control panels and outdoor-adjacent applications where thermal cycling is a factor. Each tie measures 0.09 inches wide and 0.03 inches thick.
The TY23M is used across residential and commercial electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and pool equipment installations wherever neat wire management is required. Common applications include securing low-voltage control wiring in furnace and air handler cabinets, bundling conduit or tubing runs, organizing pump and motor lead wires, and general panel dressing. The maximum bundle diameter of 5/8 inch (0.625 inches) suits small to medium wire bundles typical in control circuit and low-voltage wiring work. Sold in quantities of 1000 per package.
Designed as a standard-style cable tie suitable for general wire bundling and management applications across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical trade work.
Cable ties are installed by electricians, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors as part of wire management during panel assembly or field wiring. De-energize all circuits before dressing or securing wire bundles inside live panels, per NEC requirements. Use an appropriate cable tie tensioning tool for consistent pull tension and clean flush cuts on the tail. Do not over-tighten ties on insulated conductors in a way that deforms the jacket.
