The THOMAS BETTS TV18-250MD-XV is a fully insulated male disconnect terminal designed for fast, reliable wire terminations in low-voltage wiring applications. The vinyl insulation is rated UL 94 V-0 for flame resistance and covers the full barrel for protection against accidental contact and short circuits. Sized for 22-16 AWG wire and a 1/4 inch tab width, this terminal accepts standard quick-disconnect female receptacles. It is used by electricians, HVAC technicians, and panel assemblers wherever a solderless, removable wire connection is required.
This disconnect is suited for residential and light commercial wiring tasks including control panel wiring, appliance harness assembly, HVAC low-voltage circuit connections, and general electrical termination work. The 1/4 inch tab matches the most common quick-disconnect blade width found in relays, connectors, and terminal blocks. The red vinyl insulation provides a visual indicator for 22-16 AWG wire range, consistent with industry color-coding conventions for this wire gauge class.
Designed as an OEM-style solderless disconnect terminal compatible with 22-16 AWG wire and standard 1/4 inch quick-disconnect female receptacles used across residential and light commercial electrical and HVAC control wiring applications.
Installation requires a ratcheting or standard wire terminal crimping tool sized for insulated terminals in the 22-16 AWG range. De-energize all circuits before terminating or disturbing wiring connections. Strip wire to the appropriate length recommended for the terminal barrel to ensure full crimp engagement. Do not use pliers or non-rated tools as a substitute for a proper crimping tool, as an improper crimp can result in high-resistance connections or pull-out failure.
