The THOMAS BETTS TV10-8R-XV is a partially insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp connections on 12 to 10 AWG copper conductors. The terminal features a copper contact with a TiN (titanium nitride) plating for reliable electrical conductivity and corrosion resistance. The yellow vinyl insulation sleeve provides partial coverage at the barrel end, helping to prevent accidental contact and identify wire gauge range at a glance. At 0.894 inches in overall length and 0.283 inches in ring width, it accepts a No. 8 stud. This part is sold in a package of 75 and is RoHS compliant, making it suitable for installations with environmental compliance requirements.
This ring terminal is used in electrical panel wiring, control panel assembly, HVAC equipment wiring, and general low-voltage wiring applications. It is appropriate for both residential and light commercial work wherever a secure, permanent ring-lug connection to a No. 8 stud is needed. Electricians and HVAC technicians commonly use this terminal when terminating stranded copper wire on equipment ground lugs, contactor terminals, and control boards.
Designed for use with 12 to 10 AWG stranded or solid copper conductors terminating at a No. 8 stud. Suitable as a standard crimp ring terminal in electrical, HVAC, and control wiring applications requiring a partially insulated lug.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or HVAC technician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit completely before terminating or disturbing any wiring. Use a ratcheting crimp tool rated for insulated terminals in the 10 to 12 AWG range to ensure a full, gas-tight crimp. Inspect the finished crimp for proper barrel compression and confirm the ring seats flush against the stud before torquing the hardware.
