The THOMAS BETTS TC218SC is a straight compression-style conduit connector designed for use with electrical metallic tubing (EMT). Built from die cast zinc, this connector provides a concrete-tight, non-insulated termination point where EMT meets an enclosure, panel, or junction box. The compression connection method delivers a secure mechanical fit without requiring set screws, making it a reliable choice for electricians working in wet, damp, or embedded concrete applications. At a 3-inch trade size, this connector is suited for larger conduit runs common in commercial and industrial electrical installations.
This connector is intended for use in electrical installations where EMT conduit terminates at enclosures, load centers, or distribution panels. The concrete-tight rating makes it appropriate for conduit runs embedded in or passing through concrete slabs, walls, or other masonry structures. Licensed electricians install this fitting in both new construction and retrofit projects governed by NEC requirements for conduit fittings and enclosure entries.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit connector for 3-inch EMT conduit systems in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 358 governing electrical metallic tubing. De-energize the panel or enclosure fully before making any conduit entry connections. Ensure the EMT conduit end is cleanly cut and deburred before seating it into the compression fitting to achieve a proper concrete-tight seal. Do not overtighten the compression nut beyond hand-tight plus a quarter turn, as die cast zinc fittings can crack under excessive torque.
