The THOMAS BETTS TC217SC is a straight compression conduit connector designed for use with electrical metallic tubing (EMT). It is constructed from die cast zinc and provides a concrete-tight, non-insulated connection between EMT conduit and an enclosure knockout. The compression-style design creates a secure mechanical and electrical bond without requiring set screws, making installation fast and reliable. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting during rough-in work on commercial and residential electrical systems. The 2-1/2 inch trade size accommodates larger EMT runs typical of high-capacity branch circuits and feeder installations.
This connector is suited for applications where conduit must terminate at a junction box, panel, or enclosure in wet, damp, or concrete-poured environments where a concrete-tight rating is required. The straight connector profile allows direct entry into a knockout without offset adapters. It is appropriate for indoor and outdoor installations where EMT is the specified raceway type, including commercial construction, industrial facilities, and residential service equipment areas.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit connector for 2-1/2 inch trade size EMT conduit systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 358 governing electrical metallic tubing. De-energize all circuits and verify zero voltage at the enclosure before beginning conduit termination work. Slide the compression nut and body over the EMT end, insert into the knockout, and tighten the compression nut to seat the fitting securely against the conduit. Do not over-tighten to the point of deforming the conduit wall or fitting threads.
