Installation of EMT conduit connectors is performed by licensed electricians in accordance with NFPA 70 (NEC) requirements for conduit wiring methods. Before connecting or disconnecting fittings on an energized enclosure, de-energize the circuit and verify absence of voltage using appropriate test equipment. Compression connectors are tightened by hand and then secured with a wrench to achieve a weathertight seal — do not overtighten, as die cast zinc fittings can crack under excessive torque. Ensure the conduit end is cleanly cut and deburred before inserting into the connector body.
