The THOMAS BETTS SSFCC1/23/4H1/4 is a spring steel bottom flange mounted conduit clip designed to secure rigid and EMT conduit runs to structural flanges. The clip accepts 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch EMT as well as 3/4 inch rigid conduit, making it a versatile fastener for a range of raceway applications. It features an anodized finish for corrosion resistance. The spring steel construction provides firm, reliable retention without the need for additional hardware. Electricians and electrical contractors install this clip when routing conduit along beams, joists, or other structural members with accessible bottom flanges. The flange thickness range of 1/8 inch minimum to 1/4 inch maximum suits standard structural steel framing.
This conduit clip is suited for commercial and industrial electrical installations where conduit must be supported from structural steel beams or similar flanged surfaces. Typical applications include routing EMT or rigid conduit in mechanical rooms, warehouses, and open-ceiling commercial spaces. It is also compatible for use with pipe, providing additional flexibility in mixed-system installations. The single-piece spring steel design allows for quick, tool-minimal installation directly onto the flange without separate nuts or bolts.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch EMT conduit and 3/4 inch rigid conduit. Also suitable for use with pipe. Cross-references include Minerallac part number BG-8-12-U-2-4, Raco part number BG-8-12-U-2-4, and Gedney part number 8-12-M-2-4.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit support spacing and method. Power down all circuits in the work area before securing conduit to energized or adjacent systems. The spring steel clip snaps onto the flange by hand; verify the flange thickness falls within the 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch range before installation to ensure proper retention. Do not modify the clip body or attempt to force it onto flanges outside the rated thickness range.
