The THOMAS BETTS SSF-CK1 is a spring steel flange-style conduit hanger designed for wire or rod mounting in rigid and EMT conduit installations. It accepts EMT conduit from 1/2 inch to 1 inch and rigid conduit at 1-1/2 inches. The hanger attaches to structural flanges with a minimum thickness of 1/8 inch and a maximum thickness of 1/4 inch. The anodized finish provides a degree of corrosion resistance suited to typical commercial and industrial environments. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting during rough-in and conduit-support work on steel-framed structures and beam flanges.
This hanger is used in commercial and industrial electrical installations where conduit must be suspended from or secured to structural steel flanges, beams, or similar surfaces. It is appropriate for both rigid metallic conduit and EMT runs in ceiling, wall, and overhead applications. The wire or rod mounting design allows fast attachment to threaded rod or wire support systems commonly used in suspended conduit layouts.
This hanger is compatible with Rigid and EMT conduit and corresponds to Minerallac part numbers BW16 and BW20, Raco part number BW-16, and Gedney part numbers K20 and K16.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for conduit support and spacing. De-energize all circuits in the work area before beginning conduit installation or support work. Verify that the structural flange thickness falls within the 1/8 inch to 1/4 inch range before installing the hanger. Do not exceed the rated conduit size range for this hanger when selecting the appropriate support.
