The THOMAS BETTS RC10-516 is a partially insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for crimp connections on 12 to 10 AWG copper wire. The terminal body measures 1.21 inches long and 0.53 inches wide, with a 5/16-inch stud hole for secure fastening to bus bars, lugs, or equipment terminals. The copper contact features a TiN (titanium nitride) plating for corrosion resistance and reliable conductivity. The yellow nylon insulation sleeve provides partial coverage over the barrel, helping to identify the correct wire gauge range at a glance. Electricians and panel technicians install this terminal where a clean, code-compliant ring-lug termination is required on branch circuits and equipment connections.
This terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical work, including panel wiring, motor terminations, and control panel assemblies. It performs well in environments where vibration resistance and secure mechanical attachment are priorities. The crimp-style barrel accepts 12 and 10 AWG stranded or solid conductors, making it a standard choice for branch circuit terminations, grounding connections, and equipment bonding applications where a stud-mount ring lug is specified. Each package contains 50 terminals.
Designed as an OEM-style ring terminal for use with 12 to 10 AWG conductors requiring a 5/16-inch stud mount crimp lug in residential and commercial electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool rated for the terminal barrel size to ensure a full, gas-tight crimp. Do not use pliers or uncalibrated tools as a substitute for a proper crimper, as an incomplete crimp can cause high-resistance connections and heat buildup.
