The THOMAS BETTS RB44-HT is a high-temperature twist-on wire connector designed for making reliable wire-joint splices in demanding electrical installations. Rated for 600 volts and a maximum operating temperature of 302 degrees F, this connector handles the thermal stress found in industrial, commercial, and high-heat residential wiring environments. Sized for 2 AWG minimum compatible wire, it uses a standard twist-on installation method that electricians can complete without specialized tooling. The white color provides quick visual identification on the job. Each package contains 100 connectors, making it practical for large wiring runs or stocking the service van.
The RB44-HT is suited for wire-joint splices in junction boxes, panel enclosures, motor controls, and other locations where elevated ambient temperatures are a concern. Licensed electricians and experienced electrical contractors typically specify high-temperature connectors in boiler rooms, near HVAC equipment, in industrial panels, and anywhere standard connectors may degrade under continuous heat exposure. The 100-unit packaging supports both service work and new construction wiring projects.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard stocking connector for high-temperature twist-on wire joint applications where 600-volt, 2 AWG minimum wire size connectors are specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. Always de-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage with a meter before making any wire connections. Strip conductors to the length recommended by the connector manufacturer, insert wires fully, and twist the connector clockwise until firm and secure. Do not overtighten to the point of cracking the shell, and confirm no bare conductor is exposed beyond the connector body after installation.
