The THOMAS BETTS RB14-12 is a D-shaped, partially insulated ring terminal designed for crimp connections on copper conductors ranging from 18 to 14 AWG. The terminal body measures 1.25 inches in overall length and 0.72 inches in width, fitting a 1/2-inch stud. The copper contact features a TiN (titanium nitride) plating for reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. A blue nylon insulation sleeve provides partial coverage, making it easy to identify wire gauge during panel assembly and termination work. Electricians and control wiring technicians install these terminals during panel builds, control circuit terminations, and general wiring harness fabrication.
This terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical applications where a secure, low-resistance ring connection to a 1/2-inch stud is required. Common applications include motor control panels, junction boxes, and equipment control wiring. The blue color coding identifies compatibility with 18 to 14 AWG wire, streamlining installation in multi-conductor harness environments. Each package contains 100 terminals, supporting production-volume work or stocking for service trucks and shop inventory.
Designed for use with 18 to 14 AWG copper conductors terminated to 1/2-inch studs in standard electrical panel, control wiring, and equipment grounding or power circuit applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified technician in accordance with NEC requirements for wire terminations. De-energize and lockout the circuit before installing or removing any terminal connection. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool rated for the terminal and wire gauge to achieve a proper mechanical and electrical crimp. Inspect the completed crimp for full conductor insertion and sleeve integrity before restoring power.
