The THOMAS BETTS RA1147 is a vinyl-insulated fork terminal designed for crimped wire connections in electrical panels, control wiring, and equipment terminations. It accepts conductors from 22 AWG minimum to 16 AWG maximum and fits a Number 8 stud. The barrel is constructed from electrolytic tin-plated copper with a brazed seam that is serrated internally to deliver high pull-out resistance. The red PVC insulation sleeve is extra-long to provide stress relief at the wire flex point and to support color-coded identification of conductor size ranges. Rated to 105 degrees C, the RA1147 is approved to UL 486A and CSA 22.2. Licensed electricians and control panel assemblers are the primary installers.
This fork terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical work wherever a reliable, reusable screw-down connection to a Number 8 stud is required. Typical applications include motor control panels, switchgear, HVAC control boards, and equipment ground connections. The red color coding quickly identifies the 22-16 AWG range during panel wiring and inspection. The STA-KON series RA product line is manufactured in the United States and sold individually or in quantity lots.
Designed as a standard OEM-style fork terminal for crimped wire connections to Number 8 studs using 22 AWG to 16 AWG conductors in vinyl-insulated termination applications.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified control panel assemblers. De-energize all circuits before terminating or inspecting wiring connections. Use a ratcheting crimping tool rated for insulated terminals in the 22-16 AWG range to achieve a proper crimp. Verify stud torque requirements per NEC guidelines and the equipment manufacturer's documentation before final assembly.
