The THOMAS BETTS PT80 is a non-insulated, one-piece crimp-on wire joint designed to group and terminate copper conductors running in one direction. Built from copper-plated steel with a nylon insulation material, this connector accepts wire sizes from 16 AWG to 10 AWG, with a minimum wire combination of two 16 AWG conductors and a maximum of four 10 AWG conductors. It carries a 600-volt rating for standard applications and a 1000-volt rating for fixture and sign installations. Rated to 105 degrees C, the PT80 suits demanding environments where heat resistance is required. Electricians and maintenance technicians install these connectors in panel work, fixture wiring, and sign installations requiring a clean, secure termination point.
The PT80 is suited for residential and commercial electrical applications where multiple copper conductors must be joined at a single termination point in one direction. Common uses include lighting fixture wiring, electric sign circuits, junction box connections, and branch-circuit terminations. This connector is part of the STA-KON Series PT product family and is sold in a standard package of 50 pieces, making it practical for service work and larger installation jobs alike. Its non-insulated design keeps the profile compact in tight enclosures.
Designed for use with copper conductors from 16 AWG to 10 AWG. Compatible with fixture, sign, and general-purpose branch-circuit wiring applications where a non-insulated crimp-on wire joint meeting 600V or 1000V ratings is required.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before making any terminations. Use a calibrated crimping tool appropriate for non-insulated crimp connectors to achieve a secure, gas-tight connection. Do not use these connectors with aluminum conductors, as the PT80 is rated for copper wire only.
