The THOMAS BETTS HS6-1 is a black polyolefin heat shrink sleeve designed to protect wire terminations, splices, and cable bundles in electrical and low-voltage wiring applications. With a 3:1 shrink ratio, this sleeve starts at a 3/4 inch inside diameter and shrinks down to 0.22 inches ID when heat is applied, conforming tightly to the underlying surface. The 4 inch overall length provides adequate coverage for most standard terminations. Rated for continuous use up to 194 degrees F and activating at a shrink temperature of 248 degrees F, it delivers reliable insulation and mechanical protection. Licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians are the primary installers.
This heat shrink sleeve is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where wire and cable protection is required. It accommodates wire sizes from 6 AWG minimum to 2 AWG maximum, making it appropriate for branch circuit wiring, panel connections, and service entrance terminations. Its polyolefin construction offers resistance to abrasion, acids, and corrosion, making it usable in light industrial environments as well as standard electrical installations. Sold in packages of 25 sleeves.
Designed as an OEM-style heat shrink sleeve for electrical wire and cable protection applications accommodating 6 AWG through 2 AWG conductors.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or low-voltage technicians in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize all circuits before applying the sleeve to any conductor or termination. Use a calibrated heat gun to apply even heat around the sleeve until full shrink recovery is achieved — open flames are not recommended, as they can damage the polyolefin material. Ensure the sleeve is fully seated over the connection before applying heat.
