The THOMAS BETTS HS12-6LR is a red polyolefin heat shrink sleeve designed to protect wire terminations, splices, and cable bundles in electrical and low-voltage wiring applications. Starting at 0.5 inches inner diameter and shrinking down to 0.15 inches at a 3:1 ratio, it delivers a tight, conforming fit over a wide range of wire gauges. At 6 inches in overall length, this sleeve provides ample coverage for most field termination work. The polyolefin construction resists abrasion, acid, and corrosion, making it suitable for demanding environments. Heat activation occurs at 248 degrees F, and the sleeve maintains performance up to a maximum operating temperature of 194 degrees F. Licensed electricians and low-voltage technicians are the primary installers.
This heat shrink sleeve is suited for residential and commercial electrical installations where wire insulation, strain relief, or environmental sealing is needed. Compatible with wire sizes ranging from 8 AWG to 6 AWG, it works well for branch circuit wiring, control wiring, and panel connections where a secure, color-coded sleeve is required. The red color aids in visual identification of specific wire runs or phases during installation and future service calls. Each package contains 25 sleeves, sold in a minimum order quantity of 1.

Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified low-voltage technicians. De-energize all circuits before applying the sleeve to any conductor or termination. Use a heat gun calibrated to deliver sufficient airflow at or above the 248 degrees F activation temperature, applying heat evenly around the sleeve to achieve uniform shrinkage. Avoid open-flame tools, which can scorch or unevenly shrink polyolefin tubing.
