The THOMAS BETTS HS12-6 is a black polyolefin heat shrink sleeve designed for insulating, protecting, and bundling wire and cable terminations. With a 3:1 shrink ratio, this sleeve starts at 0.5 inches inside diameter and shrinks down to 0.15 inches after applying heat at 248 degrees F, creating a tight, secure fit over the conductor. The polyolefin construction delivers abrasion, acid, and corrosion resistance suited for harsh electrical environments. It is rated for a maximum continuous operating temperature of 194 degrees F. Each package contains 25 sleeves, each measuring 3 inches in overall length.
This sleeve is used in residential and commercial electrical applications where wire ends, splices, and terminals require environmental and mechanical protection. Compatible wire sizes range from 8 AWG to 6 AWG, making this sleeve appropriate for medium-gauge conductor terminations in control wiring, panel work, and field repairs. Electricians and low-voltage technicians commonly use this product during wire harness assembly, service panel terminations, and conduit pull-through finishing work.

Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified technicians following applicable NEC guidelines. De-energize all circuits before applying heat shrink sleeves to any conductors or terminations. Use a calibrated heat gun to apply even heat around the sleeve until it conforms fully to the underlying wire or terminal. Avoid open-flame torches on finished assemblies where adjacent components may be heat-sensitive.
