The THOMAS BETTS HO223 is a die cast zinc conduit nipple designed for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) installations. This non-insulated fitting features a threaded connection on both ends, allowing it to couple conduit sections or connect conduit to enclosures, junction boxes, and panels. At a 1-inch trade size, it is a standard fitting for commercial and industrial electrical raceways. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this type of fitting as part of a complete conduit system. The die cast zinc construction provides corrosion resistance suitable for non-hazardous indoor and outdoor environments.
This conduit nipple is suited for rigid conduit and IMC raceways in non-hazardous locations. Typical applications include connecting conduit runs to electrical panels, enclosures, and junction boxes in commercial buildings, light industrial facilities, and residential service installations. The 1-inch trade size accommodates standard conduit and conductors common to branch circuit and feeder wiring. It is not rated for hazardous location use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit conduit fitting for 1-inch trade size rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems in non-hazardous locations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit system before beginning work. Thread connections should be made up wrench-tight to ensure mechanical and electrical continuity of the raceway. Do not use this fitting in classified hazardous locations.
