The THOMAS BETTS GUAC36-TB is a round iron electrical GUAC box designed for use in hazardous location wiring applications. Constructed from iron with a zinc-plated finish, this box measures 3.5 inches in overall width and 2.31 inches in overall depth. It includes two 1-inch knockouts and comes with internal ground screws. Rated for NEMA 3, NEMA 4, NEMA 7 CD, and NEMA 9EFG environments, it meets the demands of classified industrial and commercial electrical installations where moisture, dust, and explosive atmosphere protection are required. Licensed electricians and industrial electrical contractors are the primary installers of this product.
This box is suited for use in Class I Divisions 1 and 2 Groups C and D, Class II Division 1 Groups E, F, and G, and Class III Divisions 1 and 2 environments. Typical installations include industrial plants, processing facilities, grain handling operations, and other locations where hazardous atmosphere classifications apply under NEC Article 500 guidelines. The non-weather-resistant designation means this box should be installed in locations where its rated NEMA enclosure provides adequate environmental protection for the specific application.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit electrical GUAC box for use in hazardous location conduit systems requiring Class I, Class II, or Class III rated enclosures.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician familiar with NEC Article 500 hazardous location requirements. De-energize all circuits and verify lockout-tagout procedures are in place before beginning any conduit box installation. Ensure conduit fittings used at the knockout entries carry matching hazardous location ratings for the installation class and group. Do not overtighten conduit locknuts or fittings beyond the fitting manufacturer specifications.
