The THOMAS BETTS GUAB47-TB is a round, iron-body electrical enclosure box designed for use in hazardous and demanding industrial locations. Zinc-plated for corrosion resistance, it measures 4.38 inches overall width and 2.69 inches overall depth. It ships with internal ground screws and features two 1-1/4 inch knockouts for conduit entry. Rated for Class I, II, and III hazardous locations, this box meets multiple UL and CSA standards, making it a code-compliant choice for licensed electricians working in environments with flammable gases, combustible dust, or ignitable fibers.
This enclosure is suited for industrial, commercial, and heavy-duty residential electrical installations where hazardous location ratings are required. Typical applications include oil and gas facilities, grain handling operations, chemical processing plants, paint spray booths, and other Class I or Class II Division 1 environments. It accepts 1-1/4 inch trade size conduit connections and is sized for standard round-box wiring configurations. A licensed electrician or industrial electrical contractor is the expected installer.
Designed as an OEM-style hazardous location electrical box compatible with Class I Divisions 1 and 2 Groups C and D, Class II Division 1 Groups E, F, and G, and Class III Divisions 1 and 2 installations requiring a round iron enclosure with 1-1/4 inch knockout entry.
Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 500 requirements for hazardous classified locations. De-energize all circuits at the panel before beginning work and verify the absence of voltage with a calibrated tester. Conduit sealing fittings may be required by code at box entries depending on the hazardous location class and group. Do not substitute non-rated hardware or fittings in classified locations.
