The THOMAS BETTS GUAB16-TB is a round, iron electrical box designed for use in hazardous and demanding environments where standard enclosures are not rated for use. Built to UL 514A and UL 886 standards, this box carries ratings for Class I Divisions 1 and 2 Groups C and D, as well as Class II Division 1 Groups E, F, and G, and Class III Divisions 1 and 2. The body is iron construction with a zinc-plated finish for corrosion resistance. It measures 3.5 inches overall width and 2 inches overall depth, and includes internal ground screws. Electricians and industrial maintenance technicians install this enclosure where explosion-proof or dust-ignition-proof protection is required.

This box is suited for industrial, commercial, and heavy-duty residential applications where classified hazardous locations exist, such as refineries, grain handling facilities, chemical plants, and similar environments. It meets NEMA 3, NEMA 4, NEMA 7 CD, and NEMA 9EFG ratings, making it appropriate for both wet locations and atmospheres containing flammable gases, vapors, or combustible dusts. Two 0.5-inch knockouts are provided for conduit entry. CSA certification under CSA C22.2 No. 30 confirms compliance for Canadian installations as well.
