The THOMAS BETTS FD2-TB is a single-gang rectangular electrical device box constructed from iron with a zinc-plated finish. Designed for use in residential and light commercial wiring applications, this device box provides a secure, code-compliant enclosure for switches, receptacles, and other wiring devices. The box measures 2-3/4 inches in overall width, features one 3/4-inch knockout for conduit entry, and carries both CSA Certification and UL File E2969 listings. The iron body and zinc-plated finish provide durability in standard dry-location installations where weather resistance is not required.
This device box is intended for standard single-gang device installations in non-weather-resistant environments. It is well suited for new construction and retrofit wiring projects in residential and commercial settings where a single switch or outlet position is needed. The 3/4-inch knockout accommodates standard trade-size conduit fittings commonly used in conduit-wired systems. Electricians working on conduit installations, particularly EMT or rigid metal conduit runs, will find this box a straightforward fit for typical single-gang rough-in work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation device box compatible with standard single-gang wiring devices including switches and receptacles in conduit-wired electrical systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and verify absence of voltage before beginning any wiring work. This box is rated for non-weather-resistant applications only and must not be used in outdoor, wet, or damp locations without an appropriate weatherproof cover and a box rated for that environment. Ensure conduit fittings at the knockout are properly secured and bonded per NEC grounding requirements.
