The THOMAS BETTS FD12-TB is a two-gang rectangular electrical device box constructed from iron with a zinc-plated finish. It is designed for mounting switches, receptacles, and other wiring devices in standard electrical rough-in applications. The box ships at 3.78 pounds and features a 1/2-inch knockout for conduit or cable entry. Non-weather-resistant construction makes this box suited for interior, protected installations. Licensed electricians install this box during rough-in on residential and light commercial projects.
This device box is used in interior wall assemblies where two-gang device configurations are required, such as dual-switch or duplex-receptacle installations. The iron body and zinc-plated finish provide durability in standard indoor environments. It is well suited for conduit-fed systems where a single 1/2-inch knockout entry point is appropriate for the branch circuit layout.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-install two-gang device box for standard interior electrical rough-in applications where iron rectangular boxes are specified.
Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and all applicable local codes. De-energize the branch circuit at the panel and verify absence of voltage before beginning work. Ensure the 1/2-inch knockout entry point is fitted with a listed connector appropriate for the wiring method used. This box is not rated for wet or damp locations and must not be installed in exterior or exposed environments.
