The THOMAS BETTS F4-12 is a non-insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire terminations on 4 AWG conductors. The copper contact body features a titanium nitride (TiN) plating for reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance at the connection point. At 1.52 inches in overall length and 0.82 inches in ring width, the terminal accepts a 1/2 inch stud. It is installed by licensed electricians and experienced technicians working on power distribution, grounding systems, industrial control panels, and heavy-gauge wire runs where a secure, permanent lug connection is required. Each package contains 20 terminals.
This terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical applications where 4 AWG wire must be terminated to a bus bar, lug block, grounding stud, or equipment chassis. The non-insulated design is typical in panel board work and conduit-fed circuits where insulation sleeving or heat-shrink is applied separately after crimping. The 1/2 inch stud size accommodates common hardware found in load centers, switchgear, and grounding assemblies.
Designed for crimp termination of 4 AWG copper wire to 1/2 inch stud hardware in electrical panel, grounding, and power distribution applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for wire terminations and grounding. De-energize and lock out the circuit before installing or removing any ring terminal. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool rated for the wire gauge and terminal series to achieve a proper gas-tight crimp. Do not solder over a crimped connection, as this can create a stress point and void the UL listing.
