The THOMAS BETTS E6-516 is a non-insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp connections on 6 AWG copper conductors. It provides a secure, low-resistance termination at a 5/16-inch stud. The copper contact body features a titanium nitride (TiN) plating that resists corrosion and reduces insertion wear over repeated connections. At 1.32 inches long and 0.6 inches wide, the terminal fits standard panel lugs, bus bars, and equipment grounding points. Electricians and panel technicians install this terminal using a calibrated ratchet crimper suited for 6 AWG non-insulated lugs. It meets UL 486A, UL 486B, and CSA 22.2 standards, making it appropriate for listed electrical installations.
This ring terminal is used in residential and commercial electrical panels, motor control centers, grounding assemblies, and power distribution equipment wherever a 6 AWG conductor requires a permanent bolted termination. The 5/16-inch stud size is common on terminal blocks, ground bars, and equipment chassis studs. Its non-insulated design suits applications where heat-shrink or separate insulation sleeves are applied after crimping, or where the connection point is housed inside an enclosure.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp ring terminal for 6 AWG non-insulated applications on 5/16-inch studs in residential and commercial electrical systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductor. Use a calibrated ratchet crimping tool rated for non-insulated 6 AWG terminals to ensure a full, gas-tight crimp. Do not solder after crimping, as this can create a stress point that may fracture under vibration.
