The THOMAS BETTS DCCGV is an aluminum electrical box cover designed for use with GFCI receptacles. It provides a durable, weather-resistant enclosure face that protects the receptacle from environmental exposure and physical contact. The cover ships complete with a gasket and mounting screw, giving installers everything needed for a clean, code-appropriate finish. Electricians install this cover as part of a standard outlet box assembly, particularly in locations where a GFCI device is required by the NEC. The aluminum construction keeps the cover lightweight at 0.29 pounds while offering solid corrosion resistance compared to standard plastic covers.
This cover is suited for residential and light commercial electrical installations where GFCI protection is required, such as bathrooms, kitchens, garages, outdoor outlets, and wet or damp locations. The included gasket helps seal the cover-to-box interface, making it appropriate for installations where moisture ingress is a concern. Electricians and general contractors use this cover during rough-in completion and finish-out phases of a project, as well as during service calls where an existing cover needs replacement.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation cover for standard electrical boxes fitted with GFCI receptacles in residential and light commercial applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize the circuit at the breaker panel and confirm absence of voltage with a non-contact tester before beginning work. Seat the gasket evenly against the box face before securing the cover with the included screw to ensure proper compression and moisture sealing. Follow NEC requirements for GFCI protection locations as applicable to the installation site.
