The THOMAS BETTS CY-1/2 is a single-gang steel electrical switch box designed for old construction (retrofit) installations in residential and light commercial wiring applications. The box measures 3 inches in height, 2 inches in width, and 3.5 inches in depth, providing standard single-gang volume for switches and receptacles. The galvanized steel body offers durable, non-weather-resistant protection suited for interior wall cavities. Nine 0.5-inch knockouts are pre-scored around the enclosure to give installers flexible conduit and cable entry options. Licensed electricians typically install this box during remodel or retrofit work where finished wall surfaces are already in place.

This switch box fits standard old construction retrofit scenarios where the installer works through an existing finished wall without access from behind.
