The THOMAS BETTS BG300-14-20 is a partially insulated conduit bushing designed for use with rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC). Constructed from malleable iron, this bushing installs at the end of a conduit run to protect conductors from abrasion at the point of entry into an enclosure, box, or panel. The straight connector body pairs with a lug screw connection for secure mechanical attachment. At a 3-inch trade size, this fitting is suited for larger conduit installations common in commercial and industrial electrical distribution work.
This bushing is used in rigid and IMC conduit systems where conductor protection at termination points is required. It is a standard fitting in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and utility installations where 3-inch rigid or IMC conduit terminates into switchgear, panelboards, junction boxes, or other enclosures. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting during conduit termination. Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conduit terminations. De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage before beginning conduit work at any enclosure or panel. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and tighten the lug screw to secure the fitting. Inspect the insulated throat for damage before pulling conductors through to avoid compromising conductor protection.
