The THOMAS BETTS BG150-14-20 is a malleable iron conduit bushing designed for use with rigid and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems. It features a partially insulated design and a lug screw connection, making it suitable for protecting wire insulation at conduit termination points. The 1-1/2 inch trade size fits standard rigid and IMC conduit of that dimension. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this bushing where conduit enters enclosures, panelboards, junction boxes, or equipment knockouts, providing a smooth, protected transition point for conductors.
This bushing is used in commercial and residential electrical installations wherever rigid metal conduit or IMC terminates at an enclosure. The straight connector shape and lug screw connection allow for secure, tool-assisted fastening at the termination point. The partial insulation collar helps guard conductor insulation against abrasion at the conduit mouth, a requirement commonly referenced in NEC guidelines for conduit terminations in both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard fitting for 1-1/2 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize the circuit and verify power is off before working at any enclosure entry point. Thread the bushing onto the conduit end and tighten the lug screw securely before pulling conductors. Inspect the insulating collar for damage prior to installation to ensure conductor protection is not compromised.
