The THOMAS BETTS BG125-14-20 is a partially insulated conduit bushing designed for use with rigid and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) systems. Constructed from malleable iron, this bushing installs at the termination point of a conduit run to protect wire insulation from abrasion at the conduit end. The lug screw connection method provides a reliable, secure attachment. At a 1-1/4 inch trade size, it fits standard rigid and IMC conduit of that dimension. Electricians rely on this type of fitting to comply with NEC requirements for protecting conductors at conduit terminations, particularly in panel, junction box, and equipment enclosure entries.
This bushing is suited for commercial and residential electrical installations where rigid metal conduit or IMC is terminated at enclosures, panels, or boxes. The partial insulation provides a protective barrier between the conductor insulation and the metal conduit end without requiring a fully insulated bushing where code allows. Designed for use with 1-1/4 inch trade size rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) installations.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician. De-energize all circuits and lock out the panel before working inside any enclosure where this bushing will be installed. The bushing threads onto the conduit end and is tightened with the lug screw using an appropriate screwdriver or nut driver. Verify that the installation meets applicable NEC requirements for conductor protection at conduit terminations.
