The THOMAS BETTS B14-516 is a non-insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for crimped electrical connections on copper conductors ranging from 18 to 14 AWG. The terminal features a copper contact body with a titanium nitride (TiN) plating, which improves corrosion resistance and contact durability. At 0.93 inches in overall length and 0.5 inches in ring width, it fits a 5/16-inch stud. Rated and listed under UL 486A, UL 486B, and CSA 22.2, this terminal is suited for panel wiring, control circuits, and field termination work performed by licensed electricians and instrumentation technicians.
The B14-516 is used in residential and commercial electrical panels, HVAC control wiring, and industrial control enclosures where a secure, low-profile ring termination is required. The D-shaped barrel geometry aids alignment during crimping and helps prevent rotation after installation. Sold in a package quantity of 100, this terminal is a practical bench stock item for service technicians and panel builders working with 18 to 14 AWG wire runs to grounding lugs, terminal blocks, and equipment studs.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp ring terminal for use with 18 to 14 AWG copper conductors and 5/16-inch threaded studs in standard electrical and control wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or replacing any ring terminal. Use a calibrated ratchet crimp tool rated for the wire gauge being terminated — improper crimping tools can produce cold or incomplete crimps that fail under load. Do not solder over a crimp on a listed crimp-only terminal, as this can compromise the UL-listed termination.
