The THOMAS BETTS ALR-2 is an LR-configuration aluminum conduit body designed for use with IMC and rigid metal conduit systems. It features an oval shape with a 7.3 cubic inch internal volume capacity and an overall length of 4-1/8 inches. The body is cast aluminum with a gray finish, providing weather-resistant performance suited to demanding installation environments. Electricians use this type of conduit body to make 90-degree directional changes in a conduit run while maintaining accessible wire pulls. The ALR-2 carries UL Listed certification and meets RoHS compliance standards, making it appropriate for use across a wide range of commercial and industrial electrical installations.
This conduit body is sized for 3/4 inch trade size conduit and is compatible with both IMC and rigid aluminum conduit systems. It is well suited for exposed conduit installations in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, and outdoor applications where weather resistance is required. The LR body style allows conduit runs to turn from the left or right, simplifying routing around structural obstacles. Electricians working on branch circuit wiring, feeder runs, or general conduit infrastructure will find this a standard-service fitting for both new construction and retrofit work.
Designed for use with 3/4 inch trade size IMC and rigid metal conduit systems. Suitable as a standard LR conduit body fitting in residential, commercial, and industrial conduit installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize the circuit and verify power is off before opening or working within any conduit body. Ensure conductor fill does not exceed the rated 7.3 cubic inch capacity as required by NEC Article 314. Cover and gasket hardware should be inspected and properly secured when installed in wet or outdoor locations.
