The THOMAS BETTS A18-6F is a standard non-insulated fork terminal designed for crimp-style wire termination in electrical wiring applications. Rated at 600 volts, this terminal features a No. 6 stud size and a fork width of 0.25 inches, with an overall length of 0.72 inches. The contact is made from copper with a TiN (titanium nitride) plating for reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. Color-coded red for quick identification during installation, it is well suited for use in control panels, junction boxes, and other wiring assemblies where a secure, low-profile lug connection is required. Licensed electricians and panel wiring technicians are the primary installers.
This fork terminal is appropriate for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical wiring where a non-insulated, crimp-type fork lug is needed at a No. 6 stud connection point. The red color coding is a standard industry indicator for a specific wire gauge range. The crimp termination method produces a gas-tight mechanical and electrical connection without soldering. It is commonly used in control wiring, grounding applications, and terminal block connections where 600-volt rated components are required.
Designed as an OEM-style crimp fork terminal for use at No. 6 stud termination points in standard electrical wiring assemblies rated up to 600 volts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. Always de-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage with a meter before making any terminations. Use a calibrated ratcheting crimp tool appropriate for non-insulated fork terminals to ensure a proper gas-tight crimp. Do not re-crimp a terminal that has already been installed and removed, as this may compromise the mechanical and electrical integrity of the connection.
