The THOMAS BETTS A18-6 is a non-insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire terminations on small-gauge conductors. Rated for 22 to 16 AWG wire, it features a copper contact with tin nitride (TiN) plating for reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance. The terminal measures 0.72 inches in overall length and 0.25 inches in ring width, sized for a No. 6 stud. It is sold in a package of 100 units. Electricians and low-voltage installers use this terminal in panel wiring, control circuits, and instrument connections where a secure, compact ring-lug termination is required.
This terminal suits residential and light commercial electrical applications involving small-gauge wire runs. Typical uses include control panel wiring, grounding connections, and instrument or signal circuit terminations where a No. 6 stud fastening point is present. The non-insulated design allows inspection of the crimped conductor and is compatible with standard crimping tools sized for 22 to 16 AWG. Packages of 100 support high-volume installation and service work.
Designed for use with 22 to 16 AWG conductors on No. 6 stud termination points in non-insulated crimp terminal applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician following NEC guidelines for wire terminations. De-energize all circuits before crimping or fastening terminals. Use a ratcheting or calibrated crimp tool rated for 22 to 16 AWG non-insulated terminals to ensure a proper mechanical and electrical connection. Do not solder over the crimped connection, as this can reduce flexibility and increase the risk of conductor fatigue.
