The THOMAS BETTS 71010-TB is a non-insulated, D-shaped ring terminal designed for making secure, low-resistance lug connections in electrical wiring applications. Built with a copper contact body and a titanium nitride (TiN) plating, this terminal provides reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance under demanding service conditions. It accepts wire sizes from 4 AWG through 2/0 AWG and fits a 3/8-inch stud. Overall length is 1-21/32 inches with a ring width of 23/32 inches and a barrel thickness of 3/16 inches. Electricians and electrical contractors install this type of terminal in panel wiring, grounding assemblies, and heavy-duty power connection work.
This terminal is suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations where a mechanically crimped, non-insulated lug termination is required. It is appropriate for applications involving larger-gauge copper conductors in switchgear, distribution panels, motor terminations, and grounding electrode conductor connections. The D-shaped ring profile provides positive alignment on a 3/8-inch stud during installation, reducing the chance of misalignment under torque. Installers working in environments with strict compliance requirements will note that this terminal carries CSA certification and UL File E9809 recognition, and meets RoHS requirements.
Designed as a lug-style ring terminal for use with 4 AWG through 2/0 AWG conductors and 3/8-inch mounting studs in standard electrical panel, grounding, and power termination applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated crimping tool rated for the wire gauge being terminated to ensure a proper mechanical and electrical connection. Do not solder over a crimped lug terminal, as this can compromise the crimp integrity and create a stress point in the conductor.
