The THOMAS BETTS 676-TB is a threaded conduit coupling designed for joining sections of rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) in electrical raceway installations. Made from malleable iron, this 3/4 inch trade size fitting provides a durable, concrete-tight connection at conduit joints. It is non-insulated and relies on threaded engagement for mechanical and electrical continuity. Electricians use this fitting in both exposed and embedded conduit runs where a reliable, code-compliant joint is required.
This coupling is suited for commercial and industrial electrical installations using 3/4 inch rigid steel conduit or IMC. It is commonly installed in conduit systems run through concrete slabs, walls, and structural members where a concrete-tight fitting is specified. The threaded connection ensures a secure mechanical joint without additional fasteners or tools beyond standard conduit wrenches.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for 3/4 inch trade size rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) threaded raceway systems.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local codes. De-energize and lock out the circuit before working on any conduit system. Thread the coupling fully onto both conduit ends using a strap wrench or pipe wrench to achieve a wrench-tight fit. Do not overtighten to the point of cracking the fitting, as malleable iron can fracture under excessive force.
