The THOMAS BETTS 675 is a threaded conduit coupling designed for joining rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) runs in commercial and industrial electrical installations. Constructed from malleable iron, this coupling provides a concrete-tight fit rated for direct embedment and exposed raceway applications. The non-insulated, threaded connection meets standard trade practices for 1/2 inch conduit systems. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors install this fitting as part of a continuous metallic raceway assembly where mechanical protection and grounding continuity are required.
This coupling is suited for 1/2 inch trade size rigid and IMC conduit systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Its concrete-tight area-of-application rating makes it appropriate for use in poured concrete or masonry installations where conduit must be embedded without moisture ingress at the joint. It is also used in standard surface and in-wall raceway installations wherever a threaded RMC or IMC coupling is specified.
Designed for use with 1/2 inch trade size rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) with standard threaded ends.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize all circuits in the affected raceway before working on the conduit system. Thread both conduit ends fully into the coupling and tighten using appropriate conduit wrenches to ensure a secure, concrete-tight joint. Do not use this coupling with electrical metallic tubing (EMT) or non-threaded conduit ends.
