The THOMAS BETTS 614-TB is a threaded conduit reducer designed for use with rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) installations. It transitions from a 2-inch trade size conduit down to a 1-1/4-inch trade size, allowing electricians to reduce conduit runs at junction boxes, enclosures, or panel entries without replacing full conduit sections. Constructed from steel, this non-insulated fitting delivers the mechanical strength required in standard commercial and industrial conduit systems. The threaded connection type ensures a secure, code-compliant joint consistent with IMC and rigid conduit assembly practices.
This reducer is suited for use in non-hazardous areas in both commercial and light industrial electrical installations. It is commonly installed where a conduit run changes diameter at a knockout, enclosure hub, or conduit body. Licensed electricians install this fitting as part of a threaded conduit system during new construction or retrofit work. It is not rated for use in classified hazardous locations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for threaded rigid and IMC conduit systems with a 2-inch to 1-1/4-inch trade size transition in non-hazardous area applications.
Installation is performed by a licensed electrician following applicable NEC requirements for rigid and IMC conduit systems. De-energize all circuits in the affected conduit run before beginning work. Use pipe wrenches or conduit-rated wrenches to achieve a wrench-tight threaded connection. Do not use this fitting in classified hazardous locations, as it is not rated for such environments.
