The THOMAS BETTS 610-TB is a malleable iron conduit reducer designed to transition from 1-1/2 inch trade size conduit down to 1-1/4 inch trade size. It uses a threaded connection and is suited for rigid metal conduit (RMC) and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) installations. This non-insulated fitting is rated for non-hazardous locations and is a standard component in commercial and industrial electrical raceway systems. Licensed electricians install this fitting when a conduit run changes trade size at a junction box, panel enclosure, or coupling point.
The 610-TB is used in rigid and IMC conduit systems in commercial, industrial, and institutional electrical installations. It is appropriate wherever a trade-size reduction is needed on a threaded conduit run — such as at enclosure knockouts, conduit bodies, or transition points between conduit segments. Because the fitting is non-insulated and rated for non-hazardous areas only, it should not be used in classified hazardous locations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement fitting for rigid metal conduit and intermediate metal conduit (IMC) threaded raceway systems in non-hazardous locations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and verify the absence of voltage before working on any conduit assembly. Use appropriate pipe wrenches or conduit tools to thread the fitting securely without over-tightening, which can damage the malleable iron body. Do not use this fitting in hazardous classified locations.
