The THOMAS BETTS 5521-TB is a straight, compression-style conduit connector designed for use with EMT (Electrical Metallic Tubing). Constructed from steel with a non-insulated design, it provides a concrete-tight and water-resistant connection at the point where conduit enters an enclosure, panel, or junction box. The compression connection method delivers a secure mechanical and electrical bond without threading or set screws. This type of fitting is a standard component in commercial and residential electrical rough-in work and is installed by licensed electricians working under NEC guidelines.
This connector is suited for dry, damp, and water-resistant applications where a concrete-tight fitting is required. It fits 1-1/2 inch trade size EMT conduit runs entering electrical enclosures, meter sockets, load centers, and similar equipment. The straight connector profile is used in direct entry installations where the conduit runs perpendicular to the enclosure wall. Its compression design makes it a common choice on job sites where consistent, tool-assisted terminations are required for code compliance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use fitting for 1-1/2 inch trade size EMT conduit systems in residential and commercial electrical installations.
This fitting is installed by licensed electricians in accordance with applicable NEC requirements for EMT conduit systems. Power must be de-energized and locked out before opening any enclosure or panel for connector installation. Use the appropriate compression tool to fully seat the connector and ensure a concrete-tight, water-resistant termination. Do not overtighten or use on conduit types other than EMT, as this connector is rated specifically for EMT applications.
