The THOMAS BETTS 54916BE is a non-insulated square ring terminal designed for compression connections in electrical wiring applications. It features a copper contact with a TiN (titanium nitride) plating for enhanced durability and conductivity. Measuring 3.75 inches in overall length and 1.41 inches in ring width, this terminal is built for secure, low-resistance terminations. It is installed by licensed electricians and electrical contractors in panel wiring, grounding assemblies, and heavy-gauge conductor termination work where a bare, uninsulated lug is specified.
This ring terminal is suited for commercial and industrial electrical installations where compression-style terminations are required. The square ring geometry provides positive lug seating against bus bars, studs, and terminals with a 1/2 inch stud size. It is commonly used in switchgear, control panels, grounding circuits, and similar applications demanding a reliable, code-compliant crimp lug. The blue color coding aids in quick visual identification during installation and inspection.
Designed as an OEM-style compression ring terminal for use in electrical panel, switchgear, and grounding applications requiring a 1/2 inch stud non-insulated square ring lug.
Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool rated for the conductor gauge and terminal type to achieve a proper gas-tight crimp. Do not over-crimp or substitute a non-rated tool, as an improper crimp can result in high-resistance connections or conductor pullout.
