The THOMAS BETTS 54910BE is a non-insulated square ring terminal designed for compression connections on 2/0 AWG copper conductors. The terminal features a copper contact with a titanium nitride (TiN) plating, which improves corrosion resistance and provides a reliable mechanical bond at the connection point. At 2.28 inches long and 0.83 inches wide, with a 3/8-inch stud size and 0.130-inch barrel thickness, this terminal is suited for high-current electrical terminations in industrial, commercial, and utility applications. Electricians and electrical contractors install this type of terminal where a secure, low-resistance lug connection is required on large-gauge wiring.
This terminal is used in applications requiring a robust compression-type lug on 2/0 AWG wire, including panel terminations, switchgear, motor connections, grounding assemblies, and heavy-duty power distribution work. The square ring geometry accommodates stud-mounted bus bar connections and similar fixed-post terminations. Its non-insulated construction is standard practice where the connection point will be covered by a separate insulating sleeve, heat shrink, or enclosed within a panel or junction box.
Designed as an OEM-style compression ring terminal for 2/0 AWG copper conductors requiring a 3/8-inch stud size square ring lug termination.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating any conductors. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool rated for 2/0 AWG terminals to achieve the proper crimp — do not use pliers or uncalibrated tooling, as an improper crimp can result in high resistance or pull-out failure. Inspect the finished crimp and seating on the stud before restoring power.
