The THOMAS BETTS 54905BE is a non-insulated rectangle ring terminal designed for permanent compression connections in electrical wiring applications. It accommodates 6 AWG conductors and features a copper contact with a titanium nitride (TiN) plating for corrosion resistance and reliable conductivity. At 1.65 inches in overall length and 0.44 inches in ring width, the terminal fits a 1/4-inch stud and delivers a secure, low-resistance connection. It is installed by electricians and electrical contractors working on panel wiring, grounding circuits, and equipment terminations where a clean, uninsulated lug is required.
This terminal is suited for use in residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations. It is a common choice for grounding connections, bus bar terminations, and equipment bonding where a compression-style lug is specified. The non-insulated design allows inspection of the conductor after crimping and is compatible with heat-shrink or separate insulation sleeves when needed. Typical applications include control panels, motor connections, and service entrance wiring where 6 AWG conductors are terminated to 1/4-inch fastened studs.
Designed as an OEM-style compression ring terminal for use with 6 AWG copper conductors on 1/4-inch stud terminations in standard electrical panel and equipment wiring applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). De-energize the circuit and verify zero voltage with a meter before terminating. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool rated for 6 AWG non-insulated terminals to ensure a proper gas-tight crimp. Do not attempt to re-crimp or reuse a terminal that has already been compressed onto a conductor.
