The THOMAS BETTS 54814 is a non-insulated, crimp-on butt splice terminal rated for 300 MCM wire. It provides a reliable inline connection between two conductors using a compression crimp method. The terminal is constructed from copper contact material with a TiN (titanium nitride) contact plating for corrosion resistance and conductivity. At 3.5 inches overall length and 0.87 inches overall diameter, this splice is sized for large-gauge conductors found in high-current power distribution runs. It accepts two wire entries, one from each end, making it a standard inline butt splice configuration. Electricians and electrical contractors working on commercial, industrial, or utility installations are the primary installers.
This terminal is suited for large-conductor applications including service entrance wiring, feeder runs, motor leads, and industrial power distribution where 300 MCM conductors require a secure, low-resistance inline splice. The non-insulated design allows the installer to apply heat-shrink or tape insulation appropriate to the installation environment and local code requirements. The white color coding corresponds to the 300 MCM wire gauge range for visual identification in the field.
