The THOMAS BETTS 54139 is a non-insulated square ring terminal designed for compression-style wire termination in electrical panel, grounding, and equipment bonding applications. Built with a copper contact body and titanium nitride (TiN) plating, it accepts 4 AWG conductors and seats on a 5/16-inch stud. The terminal measures 1.42 inches in overall length and 0.61 inches in ring width, with a barrel thickness of 0.070 inches. Gray color coding aids identification during installation. This terminal meets CSA, UL, and RoHS requirements, making it appropriate for use in listed electrical assemblies and compliance-sensitive installations.
This square ring terminal is suited for residential and commercial electrical work where a secure, low-resistance compression connection is required at a stud or bus bar termination point. Typical applications include electrical panel terminations, equipment grounding conductors, motor lead connections, and industrial control wiring. The compression-style connection eliminates the need for solder, providing a gas-tight mechanical bond. Electricians and panel builders working with 4 AWG copper or aluminum conductors will find this terminal appropriate for standard termination tasks at 5/16-inch stud hardware.
Designed as an OEM-style compression ring terminal for use with 4 AWG conductors on 5/16-inch stud terminations in standard electrical panel and equipment bonding applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating conductors. Use a calibrated compression crimping tool rated for the appropriate die set and wire gauge to achieve a proper gas-tight connection. Do not over-crimp or substitute a ratchet tool that is not rated for this terminal type, as an improper crimp may result in a high-resistance connection.
