The THOMAS BETTS 54115 is a non-insulated square ring terminal designed for compression-style wire connections in electrical wiring applications. Constructed with a copper contact body and a TiN (titanium nitride) contact plating, it delivers reliable conductivity and corrosion resistance in demanding environments. The terminal measures 2.85 inches in overall length and 1.36 inches in ring width, accommodating a 1/2-inch stud size. With a contact thickness of 0.1800 inches, this terminal provides solid mechanical integrity at the connection point. Electricians and electrical contractors use this type of terminal when terminating conductors to bus bars, lugs, or equipment studs where insulation is not required at the lug itself.
This square ring terminal is suited for use in commercial and industrial electrical installations where compression terminations are required at panels, switchgear, motor controls, or similar equipment. The square ring profile provides flush, stable seating against flat mounting surfaces and stud hardware. The red color coding aids in identification during installation and inspection. It is packaged as a single unit, making it appropriate for repair, replacement, or low-volume service work.
Designed as a compression-style replacement ring terminal for use with 1/2-inch stud electrical connections in commercial and industrial wiring applications where a non-insulated square ring lug is specified.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or inspecting any ring terminal connection. Use a calibrated compression tool rated for the conductor size and terminal type to ensure a proper crimp. Do not over-compress or re-crimp a previously installed terminal, as this can compromise the mechanical and electrical integrity of the connection.
