The THOMAS BETTS 54105 is a non-insulated square ring terminal designed for secure compression connections on 6 AWG copper conductors. It features a copper contact body with a titanium nitride (TiN) plating for improved conductivity and corrosion resistance. The terminal accepts a 1/4 inch stud and measures 1.23 inches in overall length with a ring width of 0.44 inches and a barrel thickness of 0.07 inches. Electricians and panel technicians use this style of terminal when making permanent, low-resistance terminations in control panels, distribution boards, and electrical enclosures where a clean, uninsulated lug is preferred.
This compression-style square ring terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical installations. It is typically installed at grounding studs, bus bars, transformer terminals, and equipment bonding points where 6 AWG stranded or solid copper wire must be mechanically and electrically secured. The non-insulated design allows for direct visual inspection of the wire insertion and is compatible with standard ratchet crimping tools sized for 6 AWG compression lugs.
Designed as an OEM-style compression lug for use with 6 AWG copper conductors terminating on 1/4 inch threaded studs in standard electrical enclosures, panels, and grounding applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with applicable NEC requirements. De-energize and lock out the circuit before terminating or inspecting any lugs. Use a ratchet compression crimping tool rated for 6 AWG to ensure a complete, consistent crimp — do not use pliers or non-ratcheting tools as an incomplete crimp can result in a high-resistance joint. Verify full wire insertion before crimping and confirm the ring seats flat against the stud with the hardware torqued per the equipment manufacturer's specification.
