The THOMAS BETTS 5355GR is an angled, insulated, threaded conduit connector designed for liquid-tight conduit systems. Constructed from malleable iron and steel, this connector provides a durable mechanical and electrical connection between liquid-tight flexible conduit and an enclosure or junction box. The angled body allows routing in tight spaces where a straight connector would be impractical. It is rated for use in hazardous, non-hazardous, oiltight, and watertight locations, making it a versatile fitting for demanding industrial and commercial electrical installations. Licensed electricians and electrical contractors are the primary installers of this fitting.
This connector is suited for 1-1/4 inch trade size liquid-tight flexible metal or non-metallic conduit in industrial plants, manufacturing facilities, commercial buildings, and other environments requiring moisture or oil resistance. Its oiltight and watertight ratings make it appropriate for wet locations, machine tool wiring, and hazardous area applications where conduit integrity is critical. The insulated throat protects wire insulation at the point of entry into the fitting.
Designed as an OEM-style fitting for 1-1/4 inch trade size liquid-tight flexible conduit systems in both hazardous and non-hazardous electrical installations.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local codes. De-energize all circuits before beginning conduit termination work. Ensure the conduit is fully seated and the locknut is tightened securely against the enclosure knockout to maintain the fitting's watertight and oiltight integrity. Do not overtighten or use pipe wrenches in a way that deforms the malleable iron body.
