The THOMAS BETTS 5331 HT is a straight, threaded conduit connector designed for use with liquid-tight flexible metal conduit (LFMC). Constructed from steel with an insulated throat, it provides a secure, watertight and oiltight termination at junction boxes, enclosures, and electrical panels. The 3/8 inch trade size fits standard liquid-tight flexible conduit of that diameter. This type of connector is typically installed by licensed electricians during new construction, equipment hookup, or service work where conduit must terminate at a fitting point with environmental protection.
This connector is suited for both residential and light commercial electrical installations where liquid-tight flexible conduit is routed to motors, HVAC equipment, pumps, compressors, and other machinery requiring protection from moisture, oil, and contaminants. The straight configuration allows direct entry into knockout openings without angled adapters. Its threaded connection ensures a tight mechanical fit against the enclosure wall.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-fit connector for 3/8 inch trade size liquid-tight flexible metal conduit terminations in oiltight and watertight electrical enclosure applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC Article 350 governing liquid-tight flexible metal conduit. De-energize all circuits before beginning work on any enclosure or panel. Hand-tighten the connector into the knockout, then snug with pliers or a strap wrench — do not overtighten steel fittings into aluminum enclosures. Verify the insulated throat is properly seated to prevent conductor damage at the entry point.
